11 MEDIA-supported films at Festival CinEast
Yesterday marked the start of the 8th edition of CinEast – Central and Eastern European film festival Luxembourg. This year’s opening film was the 2015 Silver Bear winner ‘Body’ by Polish director Malgorzata Szumowska.
The festival, which has grown exponentially over the past few years, will run for nearly three weeks and showcases the talent and diversity in filmmaking in Central and Eastern Europe. Films will be screened in various venues across the country. Many screenings will be followed by Q&A sessions with film producers, actors or directors. The festival programme also features cultural and culinary events, school and children’s sessions, conferences and an industry day.
A total of nine festival films received MEDIA funding through the Development scheme:
