New study – ‘Showing films and other audiovisual content in European schools’

The European Commission has published a new comprehensive report with recommendations on the use of films and other audiovisual content in European schools. The study explores obstacles and best practice examples from a range of perspectives. Topics covered include film literacy in European curricula, ways of showing and distributing films and audiovisual material in schools and copyright issues.

The study can be downloaded here or on the Commission website free of charge.

Premiers résultats de l’étude ‘Mapping the Animation Industry in Europe’

L’Observatoire européen de l’audiovisuel a présenté les premiers résultats de son étude Mapping of the Animation Industry in Europe lors d’un atelier au Marché international du film d’animation à Annecy le 17 juin 2015. Le rapport final de l’étude, qui a été commandée et financée par Europe créative, sera présenté en fin d’année.

Lucia Recalde, chef de l’unité MEDIA de la DG Education et Culture de la Commission européenne a ouvert la conférence. La présentation des premières statistiques était suivie d’un panel d’experts composé de Luca Milano (RAI Fiction), Marc Dupontavice (Xilam Animation), Carlos Biern (BRB International), et Paul Young (Cartoon Salon), et modéré par Christophe Erbes.

Applications are open for EAVE+

Independent producers with a solid track record and international experience from Europe and the rest of the world have got 2 more weeks to apply to EAVE+.
The intensive workshop brings together 12 to 15 experienced producers and 6 high-profile industry experts in an intimate setting to discuss company structures, management practices and new business models.
A limited number of scholarships for European participants is available.

The workshop will take place in Luxembourg from 16 to 20 September 2015

update: EP2C Post-production Workshop – deadline extended

Deadline for applications extended to 30 June!

 

The project-based post-production workshop is heading to Luxembourg/Mondorf-les-Bains this autumn. It is open to 22 participants – 14 producers with a feature length project in advanced development and 8 post-production supervisors – and will look into a range of post-production issues from idea to delivery.
